Oxford Event Photographer: Capturing BMW Driving Experiences in Oxfordshire and the Cotswolds
As an Oxford-based event photographer, I was recently commissioned by BMW to photograph an exclusive driving experience event for a European BMW i8 club. This group was invited to England to explore the scenic roads of Oxfordshire and the Cotswolds, stopping at the historic Bicester Heritage site. This unique opportunity allowed me to blend my passion for car photography with capturing the people behind the brand.
BMW i8 Club at Historic Bicester Heritage
The BMW i8 club event was a fantastic chance to showcase both the beauty of Oxfordshire’s landscapes and the elegance of high-performance cars. The team visited Bicester Heritage—a vibrant hub for automotive enthusiasts and professionals. Located on a historic 444-acre former WWII RAF Bomber Training Station, Bicester Heritage is home to over 50 specialist automotive businesses, recognized as a leading site for classic car restoration and historic conservation. Despite the rainy day, the BMWs parked in a massive hangar made for impressive shots, with puddles creating reflections and tyre marks adding depth and drama to the images.
Capturing Iconic Moments for Luxury Brands
Event photography is about telling a story, and with the BMW i8s set against the historic backdrop of Bicester Heritage, the photos conveyed a mix of modern luxury and classic heritage. I captured group shots of all 30 cars with their proud owners, and individual images highlighting the distinctive curves of the BMW i8. Each image balanced the sleek, futuristic BMW design with the timeless character of the Oxfordshire countryside and the dynamic history of Bicester Heritage.
